What you need first
- A Microsoft 365 work or school account, or a personal Outlook.com account.
- Permission for Stack to read and send mail for you. Microsoft asks for it when you connect.
How to connect it
- 01Open Settings → IntegrationsIn the Stack app. Outlook is part of the Microsoft 365 card.
- 02Choose Connect on Microsoft 365Then sign in with Microsoft and approve the permissions it lists.
- 03Wait for the first syncThe last 90 days of your Inbox come across, and new mail arrives within a couple of minutes.
What it does not do yet
- You can’t send attachments from an Outlook account yet. You can still receive and open them.
- Contacts aren’t synced yet.
- Exchange shared mailboxes aren’t supported; each person connects their own mailbox.
- Snoozing an email stays in Stack; it isn’t written back to Outlook.
More detail
Categories you add in Stack show in Outlook, and the other way round. Archiving in Stack moves the email to your Outlook Archive folder. With a work or school account, your Teams chats can come into the inbox too.
Stack connects through Microsoft’s own sign-in, so it never sees your password. Access tokens are kept in an encrypted vault, and images in emails load through Stack’s own server, so senders don’t see your IP address or device.
